In the past few decades, there has been a major shift from use of chemical processes in various industries to use of more eco-friendly technology which involve use of microbes and their derivatives. This book focuses upon the role of microbial technology in removal of harmful pollutants from the environment. The advantage of using microorganisms for this purpose is that it involves biological processes which are fundamentally much less harmful for the environment as opposed to conventionally employed chemical processes.
